Dear Cargo Customer,

As you may know, we've reached a settlement with the Department of Justice and State Attorneys General, bringing us one step closer to building the new American and providing you with a stronger airline that offers a modern fleet, increased capacity and a broader network around the globe.

There are still several milestones we must reach before we can proceed with our merger. We still need to obtain approval of the settlement by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and some other closing approvals, but we now expect to be able to close the merger in December 2013. For now, we'll continue to operate as two separate carriers and expect to do so for some time even after we close.

Throughout this process, we're committed to keeping you informed as we combine into one carrier and will continue to communicate with you as we reach important milestones.
