A letter from Kenji Hashimoto

July 15, 2013

Dear Cargo Customer,

Thank you for your ongoing support as we continue to move forward to create the new American Airlines. We are now well into our journey and are continuing to plan ahead for our future, making customer focused changes along the way.

While this American Airlines Cargo team will continue this journey with you, I will not be able to be a part of it. Effective at the time our merger with US Airways closes and upon confirmation by the new Board of Directors, I will be promoted to take on the role of Senior Vice President of Regional Carriers. While this is an exciting opportunity for me, I will certainly miss the Cargo industry and your partnership.

It is with great enthusiasm that I leave you in the very capable hands of Jim Butler who will serve as the new President of Cargo. Jim has a long history with American Airlines and brings more than 16 years of airline experience to the position having served in numerous roles including Commercial Planning and Performance, Corporate Planning, Finance, Sales, Revenue Management among others.

This is an exciting time for all of us at American Airlines, and I know that under Jim's leadership, the Cargo team will continue to deliver the excellence you have come to expect by maintaining our focus on you and our operations.

I appreciate all the support you provided me and your keen insights and know that you will be as welcoming to Jim. Thank you again and I look forward to seeing the continued success of our partnership.

Sincerely,

Kenji Hashimoto
President, American Airlines Cargo
