Airline recognized for excellence in customer service, on-time performance, reliability and security
American Airlines Cargo has been named the International Carrier of the Year by the Airforwarders Association (AfA), a trade group that represents the interests of U.S.-based air freight providers. The award was announced yesterday during the Air Cargo Conference in Austin, Texas.
The International Carrier of the Year award is an opportunity for the AfA to recognize American’s dedication to customer service, on-time performance, reliability and security, among other factors.
"This award is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our team members around the world,” said Rick Elieson, president, American Airlines Cargo. “It also shows that our dedication to continual improvement – in our technology, our systems and our processes – is keeping us at the forefront of the industry. Thank you to the AfA for recognizing our efforts, which will only continue this year and beyond.”
This is the first time American has won the AfA International Carrier of the Year award. In 2016, the company was honored with the AfA James Foster Memorial Award, which recognizes carriers that exhibit a high level of professionalism and dedication to advancing the airfreight industry.
American has also been honored by the cargo community for its excellence in performance and customer service through a variety of other recognitions, including its third consecutive Cargo Airline of the Year award and 10th consecutive Best Cargo Airline of the Americas award.
