New Brazil Import Cargo Control System – CCT

New Brazil Import Cargo Control System – CCT

Effective July 31, 2023, the government of Brazil is requiring electronic advance cargo information for ALL cargo (with the exception of mail) arriving into Brazil at the first point of entry. This automated entry process and system is called the Import Control System CCT.

What does this mean for me?

This means that for all shipments scheduled to arrive in Brazil on or after July 31, we will now require one of the following three data elements, on the source MAWB/AWB, or in the FWB message at the time of tender to American Airlines Cargo:

    • CNPJ number (for a business)

    • CPF number (for an individual)

    • PASSPORT number (for non-Brazilian citizens)

These requirements are in place to fulfill our carrier responsibility at the Master Air Waybill (MAWB) level. If we do not have one of the three required data elements at time of tender, your shipment may be delayed.

Consignee Tax Identification Number

The consignee Tax Identification Number must be provided as follows:

    • For the paper Master or Direct Air Waybill: on the "Handling Information" box
